Description

Ski resort Mariborsko Pohorje is only 6 km away from Maribor, and 141 km from Ljubljana. The distance between the slopes is great and often one has to ski through the woods along the blue slopes to get from one slope to the next. Thus we would not recommend this ski resort for snowboarders because they are limited to the number of slopes they can use. Night skiing is also available at Mariborsko Pohorje with torches placed along the slopes totaling 7 kilometers. In the case there isn not enough snow, snow cannons will ensure a minimum of 100 skiing days. There is also a ski school as well as a ski school for snowboarders. In January the World ski competition "Zlatna lisica" (Golden Fox) is held here.
